The usual catch with electric toothbrushes is the cost of replacement heads. The Vibe Series answers that by putting eight heads in the box; at one head every three months, that is about two years of brushing before you buy anything. The brush itself is a sonic model with a motor rated at 40,000 vibrations per minute and four modes: a standard clean, a softer setting for sensitive teeth, a whitening mode and a gum massage mode. A built-in timer buzzes to tell you when to move to the next part of your mouth and when two minutes are up, which is the habit that makes the most difference to how well most people brush. It charges on a small wireless stand, and AquaSonic says a full charge lasts about four weeks of twice-daily use. The handle is rated IPX7 waterproof, and a hard travel case with room for two heads is included. It carries the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance, which the ADA gives to products with evidence that they help remove plaque and help prevent and reduce gingivitis. Read the "ultra-whitening" name with care: like any toothbrush, it can remove surface stains, but it will not change the natural color of your teeth. The heads are specific to AquaSonic, so you will need the brand's own refills later, and the feel is stronger than a manual brush, so start on the soft mode.
