Best for: Vacuuming and mopping hard floors in one pass, with steam for stuck-on messes
Our take
A wet-dry vacuum washes a hard floor and sucks up the dirty water in the same pass, so you skip the sweep-then-mop routine. Roborock's F25 Steam adds steam at up to 356°F at the roller, which helps loosen dried spills and greasy kitchen spots that a damp roller alone would need several passes to lift. Suction is rated at 25,000 Pa, and scrapers at the roller are designed to stop hair from wrapping around it. The body folds down a full 180 degrees and the head is 4.9 inches high, so it can slide under beds and sofas instead of stopping at the edge. A 1,000 ml clean water tank and a battery rated for up to 80 minutes are generous for this type of machine, enough for a large home on one fill and charge in the lower-power modes. Back on its dock, it washes its own roller and dries it with air heated to 203°F, which is what prevents the sour-mop smell these machines can develop. Keep in mind that it is for sealed hard floors, not carpet, that steam is not suitable for unsealed wood or waxed finishes, and that the dirty water tank still needs emptying and rinsing after each use. Heavy use of steam will also shorten the runtime below the headline figure.
